My 4-year-old figured out the spreading knife on her toast the very first morning, and now she insists on doing it herself. The fork tines are blunt enough that I don't wince when she stabs at her food, but they still pick up peas fine. Five pieces means there's always a clean one while the rest are
The little knife in this set actually works for spreading jam without me hovering, which I didn't expect at this age. My preschooler's been cutting soft banana slices on her own for a week now and the fork tines are blunt enough that I don't wince.
My 4-year-old finally holds a fork the right way instead of gripping it in a fist, and the chunkier handles seem to be why. The knife is dull enough that I don't hover while she cuts her own banana now.
